Open 10 AM- 6 PM , most every day, but we do require you to make an appointment with us for a designated date and time.
There are other kennels on Facebook who use the name Shady Acre Kennels (KY) & Shady Acres Kennel (MO). We are NOT on Facebook.
You are welcome to visit our home & we also offer to deliver your puppy to you or meet you partway. Expense determined by distance.
We believe in hard work and honesty. We are a semi-retired middle-aged couple who work together on our mini-farm, with goats, ducks, chickens & puppies. We have 4 grandchildren,(2 girls and 2 boys) who help us make sure our puppies are well socialized and spoiled.
Our number one goal is healthy, energetic, & happy puppies.
Our prices reflect the fact we spend a significant amount of money on vet care, vaccinations, deworming, high quality foods, registration requirements, superb housing for our adult dogs and a specialized nursery for our mommies and puppies. We are not a commercial facility. This is our home and our puppies are right here with us. We never leave them unattended. We spend precious time with each of them, playing and petting. We believe strongly that each of them should have a long, happy, healthy, playful life.
AKC pure bred pups automatically come with limited AKC registration. We offer full AKC registration rights for each AKC pure bred puppy that demonstrates AKC breed standards, for an additional fee.
We offer some pure bred puppies with CKC registration only.
Our designer pups are bred by breeding an AKC pure breed adult of one breed with an AKC pure breed adult of another breed. AKC will only register full-blood/pure bred puppies, therefore we do not register our designer bred pups.
We vaccinate and de-worm our puppies on a vet-prescribed regimen. We remove the dew claws, which keeps them from getting ripped off, at the groomers or in play. We begin weaning our puppies at 6 weeks of age. We have all our puppies eating hard, dry food before they can leave here. Puppies can go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age. (We reserve the right to keep a puppy longer if they are not eating hard dry food.)
We vaccinate our breeding parents annually. We give heart-worm medication, every month. They are each groomed on a regular schedule, bath, brush, clip!!!! They are given fresh water and food at all times.
If you do not wish to breed your new puppy, we highly recommend that you spay or neuter. (Spaying is the surgical removal of the female dog's uterus and ovaries. Neutering is the surgical removal of the male's testicles and spermatic cords.) If you decide that breeding is not for you or your puppy please have your puppy spayed or neutered to prevent accidental breeding and some cancers.)
A word of caution: Please never leave your new puppy alone with an older/larger dog or puppy, and please remember children and pets should always be supervised when together.
You are more than welcome to visit with our puppies here (by appointment).. And we do offer delivery (for a fee). (We do not ship through commercial shipping).
We are Licensed with the State of Georgia. We gladly submit to inspections from AKC and the GA Dept.of Ag.
